Each day when the tide changes these little crabs from the ocean come out from the water and chill out on the rocks, what are they doing? They are getting away from their day to day life and living it in a way where they can experience something else. It must be some type of awesome get away for them, like a vacation or something.
The rocks have coral on them, and in the coral there are all kinds of tasty snacks for the crabs. They have to be incomplete bliss when they are hanging out on the rocks. The have to get a whole lot of good and beneficial exercise in because each time the tide rises they go higher up on the rocks and then when it lowers they go down further. The sun can beat down bright onto the rocks and the crabs, so it is great that they have that thick protective layer on the outside to keep the strong sunrays away. The beach rocks must be the exotic island getaway that we dream about each day.
When you sit there and watch these crabs you can really see how happy they are that they are getting fed and feeling the sun beat down on them. This creates for a very relaxing time if you choose to watch these crabs, make a day of it and your day to day worries can all of the sudden disappear.

Sugar glider cages come in a variety of sizes and at the beginning a smaller cage is actually a better choice. A smaller cage gives your glider security and comfort and allows you to easily catch them while they are still becoming accustomed to you and bonding. As they grow, if you can give them a larger cage it is better because they love to jump and play and have room to move about. One of the most important factors in cage considerations however, is the construction.
Do not make the mistake of buying a regular bird cage for your sugar glider. There are two reasons this is a bad choice as housing for your pocket pet. One is that the way the wire construction is set up in a bird cage, with the vertical wires only crossed occasionally by horizontal wires makes it difficult for the sugar glider to hang on and climb on. They slip on the ’slat’ type construction and have to hold on extra tight with their tender ‘hands’ and feet. A proper sugar glider cage will have a tight ‘mesh like’ quality where the horizontal bars are as numerous as the vertical ones leaving only small gaps between them.
The purpose for the mesh-like wires is twofold. One for the above mentioned reason, it is easier on the sugar gliders as they climb about and play, and two; it makes it impossible for a sugar glider to escape. Some bird cage wires are set apart too far and allow easy enough escape by the diminutive glider.
Another reason not to use a standard wire bird cage is the metal wires used in its construction. A sugar glider can get zinc poisoning from that type of wire. Buying a proper sugar glider cage will save you countless hours of frustration, if not the very life of your beloved pet so choose wisely.

Many individuals are fascinated by hummingbirds. So much so, that they will do anything in their power to attract these petite creatures to their yards. So what is the best way to attract these wee feathered friends?
Here are some tips to help make your home a hummingbird hot spot:
What Do Hummingbirds Eat?
Hummingbirds usually feed off flower nectar and sugar water that is left out for them in birdfeeders. They also feed off of small insects like ants, slugs and spiders. If you really want to attract hummingbirds to your yard, make sure your bird feeder is always filled with nectar and sugar water.
What Should My Hummingbird Feeder or House Look Like?
It is a well-known fact that hummingbirds are attracted to the color red. That being said, if the feeder you already have isn’t red get out your paint brush or stick a large red bow on it to get their attention. The best hummingbird feeders have perches for the birds to stand on while they feed. The holes in hummingbird feeders are just big enough for the little guys to fit their heads in, but they’re too small for squirrels and other larger animals so they can’t steal the food.
Refrain from painting your hummingbird feeder or house yellow because bees and wasps are attracted to these colors and also enjoy the taste of sweet nectar. You’ll want to keep insects as far away from your hummingbird feeders and houses as possible.
What Materials Should Hummingbird Houses or Feeders be made of?
Hummingbird feeders and houses are usually made of acrylic or glass. They are also available in wood and plastic; however these do not work as effectively and may cause harm to the birds (slivers and cuts). Hummingbird houses and feeders come in a variety of sizes and shapes and usually contain numerous feeding areas throughout the feeder.
Where Should I my Hummingbird Feeder?
Ideally, a hummingbird feeder should be hung near a garden with bright flowers and plants. A flowery location is most likely to attract the attention of hummingbirds. For your viewing pleasure, you may want to hang your feeder in a place that can be easily seen from your home. For example a hummingbird feeder hung in front of a window can be admired all day.
How Much Do Hummingbird Feeders Cost?
The styles and designs differ so much that it’s difficult to determine a specific price. Hummingbird feeders and houses can cost anywhere from $10 to $50 - depending on the style, design and features.
