How to Deal with Sloping Greens

Posted by admin on April 30th, 2008 — Posted in Sports Parlor

Reading slopes correctly is vital to putting well. All putts start out straight, but the green’s contour curves the ball. If you’re going to improve your putting and lower your golf handicap, then you must learn how to read a green’s slope.

Reading a green’s slope comes with experience, like a lot of things in golf. The more you play, the better you’ll become at it, as I stress in my golf lessons. Nevertheless, there are some proven techniques I’ve used that will make learning how to deal with sloping greens faster.

Technique #1: Get used to the differences between fast and slow greens

The green’s slope determines the degree of break on a putt. How much the putt breaks depends on two factors: the ball’s speed and the green’s speed (In other words, whether the green is fast or slow). In the summer, the ball tends to break more because the grass is shorter than in the winter, making the green faster. In the winter, the ball tends to break less because the grass is longer than in the summer, making the green slower. Take note of how fast or slow the greens are the next time you play. Get used to the difference between them.

Technique #2: Assess the green’s slope as you approach it

Studying a green as you approach it from the fairway yields a wealth of information, which can prove vital to sinking the shot. In general, a green tends to slope more one way than another does. Take an overview of the green as you approach it to determine its slope. Note which way it slopes. Also, check to see if the grass is cut with the putt, in which case the grass will appear lighter, or against the putt, in which case the grass will appear darker.

Technique #3: Practice putting long-range

Learning to make long-range putts is difficult enough without adding slopes or borrows. Adding slopes between the ball and the hole takes long range putting to another level of difficulty. The best way to learn how to putt in this situation is to practice it. Try this drill to improve your long-range putting. Stand on one side of the green and putt the ball all the way over to the other side. Try to get the ball as close to the green’s fringe as possible, without going off the green Make a game of it with your friends.

Technique #4: Play every putt as if it were straight

One way to deal with slopes is to play every putt as if it were straight. This approach seems contradictory, but Greg Norman relies on it when dealing with a sloping green. Norman, one of the tour’s top money winners, uses this method when confronted with a sloping green. And he’s not the tour that does. When dealing with a sharply sloping green, identify the putt’s breaking pointthe exact spot wide of the hole indicating the amount of break the ball will take. Then putt the ball straight to it.

Technique #5: Deaden the impact on downhill putts

Most golfers would rather putt a ball uphill than downhill, especially on a fast green. But if you play a lot of golf, you’ll face a downhill putt on a fast green sooner or later. One way to do this is to hit the ball off the putter’s toe or off the putter’s heel, close to the hosel. Either way deadens the ball enough so you can take a somewhat normal putting stroke without hitting the ball well past the hole. Which approach you adopt is a matter of personal choice.

These five strategies on dealing with sloping greens will help you learn to read the slopes on greens faster. But no golf instruction, whether golf lesson or golf tip, can teach you how to putt well. Only practice can do that. Remember improving your putting is the fastest way to lower your scores and your golf handicap.

Jack Moorehouse is the author of the best-selling book “How To Break 80 And Shoot Like The Pros.” He is NOT a golf pro, rather a working man that has helped thousands of golfers from all seven continents lower their handicap immediately. He has a free weekly newsletter with the latest golf tips, golf lessons and golf instruction.

Prioritize Your Time With The Power of 80 / 20

Posted by admin on April 30th, 2008 — Posted in Web Management

As an Organizer, I work under the presumption that each client and each client’s issues are unique. Thus, every project I undertake is basically a “start from scratch” process. And just like the best cooking, starting from scratch always yields the best results.

Nonetheless, there are some standard rules, diagnostics and processes that I use and/or suggest to almost all of my clients. One of my favorites is based on the theme of 80/20.

There are three variations on the theme of 80/20.

First, it is said that “eighty percent of success is just showing up.” This leads to the conclusion that the other twenty percent of success is knowing what to do when you get there. This is a pleasant thought. You need only be one-fifth prepared and as long as you catch the right bus, you’ll be successful.

The second variation on 80/20 is that “twenty percent of your efforts will produce eighty percent of your results.” Thus, if a person could review the remaining eighty percent of their efforts and determine which of those efforts produced the other twenty percent of results they could eliminate a great amount of wasted work. This would significantly increase free-time and ultimately increase the quality of the person’s life.

Inspired by these two variations, I created the third variation. I call it the “80/20 List.” Simply, the “80/20 List” helps you determine what you really should be doing with your time. This is a highly effective tool, especially when combined with weekly schedule planning.

To create an “80/20 List,” either grab some paper and a pen or open up a spreadsheet program on your computer.

First, write down everything you want to do. It can be something as simple as emailing a friend, buying some new clothes, or reading a book, all the way up to learning photography, buying a new home or starting a new business venture. Whatever you want to do, need to do, or dream to do, write it down.

Now, with the understanding that “twenty percent of your efforts will produce eighty percent of your results” begin to separate your list. Create two columns, one entitled “20″ and the other entitled “80.”

In the “20″ column, first put everything you must do. If you have commitments with a deadline that must be met or responsibilities that cannot be put off, put those items in this column. After that is done, take a good long look at the rest of your list. Ask yourself: “What on this list is truly and immediately important to me?” This is not to say that anything else isn’t important, it’s just not as immediately important. Once you’ve determined these items, place them in the “20″ column. If you really have a problem focusing in on what is immediately important, don’t be afraid to ask family, friends or coworkers. The “80/20 List” is not a secret to be kept. The more people who know about it, the more compelled you’ll feel to keep in line with it. When first using the “80/20 List” the more leverage you can use on yourself the better.

Now that you’ve chosen your items for the “20″ column, everything else goes into the “80″ column. Remember, you’re “20″ column should have significantly less (think a ratio of 1:4) items in it than your “80″ column.

Next, take your “20″ column and prioritize it. Give everything in the column a value of 1 (most important) through 10 (least important). Obviously, you can have multiple items with the same value, especially if you have more than ten items in the column. Put the items in order of priority and Voila! You have a to-do list that is customized and prioritized to you and your life.

Repeat this process for the “80″ column. As you accomplish things from your “20″ column, cross them off and move the top item from the “80″ column over to the bottom of the “20″ column. Now you will never have to question how to use your time or feel that you’re puttering around unfocused.

An additional benefit of the “80/20 List” is time to decide how serious you really are. If items sit in the “80″ column and never seem to make it over to the “20″ side, you’re probably not very serious about pursuing them. Make sure you periodically review your list and ask yourself if there are any items that really don’t mean much to you anymore. After all, life is change.

This list is your focus. This list is your desires prioritized by you for you. Live by this list. Combine it into your weekly schedule and watch the quality of your work time, family time and play time grow faster than you ever imagined.

Do it for yourself and the ones you love. Do it for your dreams. Do it now!

And remember: Live each day with the passion of it being your last and the wonderment of it being your first.

Hardens Reviews

Posted by admin on April 30th, 2008 — Posted in Baker's Dozen

Hardens restaurant guide all started in the early 90’s it was noticed that London as an amazing city had no Cuban restaurant guides at all. The idea was to come up with something that was small and pocket sized that the public could use to assist them to decide where is a good North African restaurant to eat. Over 13 years ago the 1st London Irish restaurant guide was distributed through hardens and has been a fantastic success ever since. Organise the perfect meal with Restaurant Reviews Online from Hardens.

What makes Hardens so poles-apart is that the London Restaurants are scored by the consumers, when the 1st ever issue was distributed the restaurant enterprises was just starting to stir and with amazing difficulty Hardens was able to ask one hundred restaurant customers to take part in the very first London wide restaurant survey. Over six hundred restaurant meals over a nine month period were sold to make the Hardens Restaurant guide what it is these days.

Hardens have the made available restaurant reviews and now have an informative website. The brilliant website is effortless to move in and around and can tell you everything you need to know about pretty much any seafood restaurants in London and give you recommendations split into sections so it makes it easier for you to narrow down what it is that you are exactly looking for.

The educational website itself has loads of bits recommended on it, it is easy to read and work your way through and this is thanks to the restaurant guides excellent clear arrangement you can check out all the newest up and coming South African restaurants and of course reviews on them. This bit is named Latest Reviews and is clearly placed on the first page of the food review site where you can view the long list of fish and chip restaurants which changes every couple of months depending on what reviews have been published. There is also an area down the left side of the hardens web page where browsers can browse for perhaps a specific Egyptian restaurant or if you’re looking for a restaurant to go to in a specific area such as Glasgow and clients want to separate the good ones for the horrific restaurants this will do the job brilliantly for you.

You Are What You Eat, Do You Dig Your Grave With Your Tongue? Boost Your Immune System

Posted by admin on April 29th, 2008 — Posted in Great Nutrition Tips

I know that the headline is a oldie, but it really is a goodie and is so very true of most of us, in this age of fast takeaway foods giving us all the foods that we should not be eating if we wish to maintain good health. What you must do is have natural nutrition that will boost your immune system.

Do we eat enough foods that contain antioxidants? or do we really know what antioxidants do for our health?
Antioxidants help to protect our systems against the terrible effects that free radical molecules have on our bodies healthy cells, They have been associated with premature aging and a whole spectrum of diseases such as eye problems, cancer and cardiovascular disease, they could also be the cause of a number of auto immune disorders.

You will see that antioxidants are important to our health and lifestyle. The body actually produces antioxidants as a normal part of energy production from the nutrition that we consume daily, however, we are also exposed to the effects of smoking, pollution and chemicals in what we eat and drink, unfortunately these sort of things increase the production of free radicals. What can we do to overcome these effects? the answer is simple, that is to somehow or other increase the level of antioxidants produced in the body, to overcome the extra free radicals being produced. In other words, we have to boost your immune system.

Without getting technical, the best way to do this is by eating lots of plant foods and making sure that your diet is full of these health giving foods.
There are many antioxidants available in different fruits, nuts, vegetables, legumes, grains and seeds.

You should also look for color in you plant food intake, red, yellow, orange, green, this will ensure that you have a wide balance of the antioxidants needed by your body.

Some of the antioxidants that are easy to obtain in their natural form are:
Vitamin E, this can be found in avocado, nuts, seeds, wholegrain and wheat germ, this can help with cardiovascular problems.

Lycopene, is found in red or pink fruits or vegetables like tomatoes, this helps in preventing cold sores, prostate cancer, and it might even help to prevent skin cancer.

Lutein, is found in green leafy vegetables, broccoli, cabbage lettuce, they help to prvent cararacts, macular degeneration and other eye diseases.

Sulphur Compounds, are found in garlic and onions, broccoli, cabbage and brussel sprouts.

I have mentioned before the huge antioxidant benefits that can be obtained from broccoli if eaten the correct way. Broccoli itself is an abundant source of antioxidants, but if you grow salad sprouts from broccoli seeds and eat them in your salad they contain about thirty times more antioxidants that broccoli eaten in the normal way. That will help your body to receive a Boost to your immune system.

This is by no means the complete list of foods that will help you produce the antioxidants, there are thousands more, but this will give you a good idea of where to start if you wish to improve your health.

How To Meditate

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2008 — Posted in The New Age Web

How to meditate? Breath, and watch your breath.

Among the documented benefits of meditation are less anxiety, decreased depression, reduction in irritability and moodiness, better learning ability and memory and greater creativity. That’s just for starters. Then there is slower aging (possibly due to higher DHEA levels), feelings of vitality and rejuvenation, less stress (actual lowering of cortisol and lactate levels), rest (lower metabolic and heart rate), lower blood pressure, and higher blood oxygen levels

How to Meditate Right Now

Here’s a simple technique that will give you results in minutes. Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and tense up your whole body. Sigh deeply, then breath deeply through your nose and release the tension from every muscle. Just feel each part relaxing, watching for parts that may hold onto tension, like a tight jaw.

If you still have tension somewhere, tense up that part again, then let it relax. It may also help to repeat silently “relax” as the tension drains. This will train your body and mind to recognize relaxation. Later you may be able to relax more easily just by repeating “relax” a few times.

Breath through your nose. This is important because it brings in more oxygen by involving your diaphragm more. You can test this. Breath with your mouth and you’ll notice that your breathing is shallower. Then breath through your nose and you’ll notice that your abdomen extends more. Air is being drawn deeper into your lungs.

Allow your breathing to fall into a comfortable pattern, and pay attention to it. Pay attention to your breath as it passes in and out of your nose. Your mind may wander endlessly, but all you have to do is continually bring attention back to your breath.

If your mind is still too busy, try naming the distractions as a way of setting them aside. For example, say in your mind, “itchy leg,” “worried about work,” or “anger,” and then immediately return attention to your breathing. Use any way you can to identify and set aside distractions.

That’s it. Continue for five or ten minutes, or for 100 breaths. Afterwards, open your eyes and sit there for a few seconds. You’ll feel relaxed, and your mind will feel refreshed. And you’ll be better prepared for any mental challenges. That’s how to meditate.

Four Ways to Make a Beautiful Bunch of Dry Flowers

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2008 — Posted in School of Gardening

Dry flowers are as beautiful as they are hard to make. Here are
the four possible ways of getting flowers dried as soon as
possible.

Air-dried flowers This method is the simplest. It involves
hanging of the flowers upside down in a warm and dry place.
Drying takes about two weeks, depending on the specificity of
the flowers. Wild and garden flowers can easily be dried. Dry
flowers are also made out of “everlasting” plants. For best
effects, you had better bind the flowers together in bunches.

Dry flowers can be produced by mechanical pressure used upon
them. This is the second way to dry a plant. It is easy although
its main feedback is that it leaves the dry flowers flat and
without shape. Take a heavy object and place it on the wrapped
flowers. For the wrapping you can use unglazed paper, such as
newsprint or a telephone book. The drying takes from two up to
four weeks to complete.

A wise way to prevent flattening of the flowers when drying is
by burying them in drying materials, such as mixtures from sand,
or borax, or corn meal. These three materials can be useful only
in drying of specific kinds of flowers. A universal solution is
silica gel. This gel is more expensive than the above-mentioned
materials, but one of its basic priorities over others is that
it can be used over and over again without having to replace it.
It can virtually dry any kind of flower. Getting dry flowers
with the usage of silica gel is very easy. The gel has special
indication when it is wet, so that you can conclude whether the
flowers are dried. Usually the gel is white or blue when it is
dry, and is composed of tiny crystals. If infiltrated by water,
its colour gets more and more pinkish. When the flowers are
dried, the colour of the gel will automatically change. Unused
silica gel must be kept in air-tight containers. To dry the gel
itself after using it with the flowers, you need to spread it on
a tray and bake it in the oven until the crystals are blue
again.

Talking about ovens, another great way to get your dry flowers
is by putting the bunch in the microwave. It can take no more
than several minutes but the effects are really magnificent. To
prevent extreme drying, you may put a cup of water in the
microwave before getting the flowers inside. The bunch itself
must by surrounded by spread crystals of silica gel. Put the
flowers in a microwave container or on a flat tray and keep the
switch on up until three minutes. The dry flowers will be ready
depending on their density and the size and number of petals.
The heating time for denser plants with many petals will be
about 3 minutes. Smaller flowers will take a minute or less to
dry. After procuring the dried flowers, you should let them in
the silica crystals for 12 to 24 hours, so that moisture can be
thoroughly absorbed. Keep the dry flowers in air-tight
containers, as microwave drying is strongly influenced by moist
conditions. To prevent the dried flowers from ruining, you had
better spray the petals with lacquer. Dry flowers can be
produced also by combining the four ways, depending on your own
needs. For more information click Dry Flowers

Must know Before Buying Medical Billing Softwares

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2008 — Posted in Insurance Portal, Meds + Medicine, Schools + Schooling

A thought might cross your mind as to why you should spend your time and money on obtaining a degree on Medical Billing or a certificate program on the same subject, when you see advertisements every day which claim that you can earn thousands of dollars every month, working from home, as a medical billing specialist sans any experience.

As you may have suspected, the vast majority of these projected “business opportunities” are not opportunities at all, but are scams. Medical billing is a skilled profession; as a medical billing specialist you’ll need to have the following knowledge and skills:
• Fill out, understand and explain insurance claim forms and insurance guidelines, procedures and claims submission process
• Question the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) forms and make sure the insurance companies are performing as need be
• Interact with both the insurance companies and patients to ensure that bills are paid in a timely manner
• Produce and provide accounts receivable reports for clients

Get Training in Medical Billing and Coding
You’ll need to know these skills and enroll into a program that devotes its teachings on medical billing and coding. These are linked in the workplace, therefore they are linked in the educational programs.
